An unforgettable place. Some of my journeys are spontaneous and are planned by my friends. The plan was to travel to Bhutan and Nepal with meeting point in Dhaka, the place that I did not have much prior knowledge about. A day in Dhaka and the contrast to European way of living I must admit was overwhelming and quite an experience. Here are some of the images from that trip.
The island of rum, cigars, retro American cars, not so old Soviet automobiles, forever living Fidel and Che, Varadero beaches, song Guatanamera, the famous Guantanamo Bay, mojitos, socialism in tropics - is the standard set of associations when it comes to talking about Cuba. This is a set of images from a trip with my best mate @dyadya_misha_ to Cuba in 2016.
The Land of the Thunder Dragon and old traditions located between India and Tibet. It is probably not on the list of many travellers when it should definitely be there. It is not cheap to visit as the state controls the flow of tourists and the cost to visit Bhutan is at least $250 per day, and you will be chaperoned by official guide provided by the state. In 2010 it became the first country to ban the production and sale of tobacco and was the last country to adopt television. The list of fascinating facts about Bhutan goes on and I encourage you to explore it further.
Landlocked by China and India, the first recollection that I have of this place and Kathmandu is probably from the film Golden Child with Eddie Murphy. Of course many would know it for mount Everest and for the fact that 8 out of 10 of the worlds highest mountains are found in Nepal. For the country that has never won an Olympic medal, it sure wins on a number of fascinating facts and its history.
I can never get enough of this place. If you are a nature lover, this is a must visit for you. One of the oldest ecosystems on the planet that has been unchanged for over 1m years is located in Serengeti National Park. The diversity of nature that you will find there will stay in you memory forever.
Galapagos Islands are located about 970km off the coast of Ecuador. 97% of the islands land mass were declared a national park with remaining 3% serving as a home to around 30k people. The islands are great to visit any time of the year, with the average of 12 hours of sunlight each day. Traveling around the islands is like stepping into Planet Earth documentary.
Quito, capital of Ecuador sits at 2,850m above sea level. It is considered the highest constitutional capital in the world, I could definitely feel that during the night. It was the first city to be declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Here is the collection of portrait photos and people that are either close to me or I have met along the way.
